AI & Creative Process Disclosure
Beneath The Static
How We Utilize AI
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Beneath The Static is a human-directed music and visual storytelling project that combines traditional creative work with generative artificial intelligence and other digital production tools. We believe listeners and viewers should understand how those tools may be used, so this disclosure applies to content published on this website and through our official music, video, and social-media channels.
The band and its creative universe
The public-facing identity of Beneath The Static may include fictional, synthetic, composite, or digitally created performers and recurring characters.
Unless expressly identified as a real person, individuals appearing in band portraits, promotional images, album artwork, lyric videos, music videos, biographies, or other visual content should be understood as part of the project’s creative universe rather than as documentation of a conventional live band.
Recurring characters, including those featured in our lyric videos and photos, are fictional visual characters unless otherwise stated. Their appearance may be created and maintained through a combination of artificial intelligence, digital illustration, compositing, image editing, animation, and human creative direction.
Real people, traditional photography, filmed performances, and other non-AI material may also appear in Beneath The Static content. Not every person, object, environment, or creative element is generated by AI.
Music and audio
The music of Beneath The Static is developed through a human-led creative process. Song concepts, emotional themes, narrative direction, lyrics, arrangement choices, production decisions, track selection, and final release approval are made by real people.
Depending on the song, artificial intelligence or machine-learning tools may assist with one or more parts of the production process, including:
Songwriting and lyric development
Melody and composition
Arrangement and instrumentation
Vocal generation, transformation, or processing
Sound design and audio editing
Mixing, mastering, and production experimentation
Some vocals, instruments, performances, or other audible elements may therefore be synthetic, generated, transformed, or AI-assisted. They should not automatically be interpreted as a live recording of a human band member unless the applicable credits specifically identify a human performer.
AI does not independently decide what becomes a Beneath The Static release. Songs may go through dozens of candidate versions, rewrites, arrangements, and production variations before a final version is selected. Those versions are reviewed, compared, revised, and approved through ongoing human listening and creative judgment.
Images, artwork, and photography
Album covers, single artwork, promotional portraits, character images, banners, thumbnails, website graphics, and social-media visuals may be created or modified using a combination of:
Generative AI
Digital illustration
Photography
Licensed or authorized stock material
Image compositing
Retouching and color grading
Background replacement or expansion
Conventional graphic-design tools
Some images may be entirely synthetic. Others may contain a mixture of generated elements, photography, hand-created design, stock assets, and manual editing. Some images, including those of characters, may be based on the likeness of a real person and are always used with express permission.
A realistic-looking person, room, landscape, event, or performance may be fictional or digitally constructed. Unless expressly described as documentary photography, visual content should not be assumed to depict an actual event exactly as it occurred.
Videos, lyric videos, and visualizers
Beneath The Static videos may include both traditionally created material and AI-assisted or synthetic media.
Depending on the production, this may include:
AI-generated starting images or video footage
Image-to-video animation
Synthetic characters or performers
Motion generation and character animation
Lip synchronization
Background generation or replacement
Visual effects and scene extensions
AI-assisted editing, restoration, or enhancement
Stock footage
Human-filmed footage
Traditional motion graphics and typography
Individual videos may combine several of these methods. A video that appears photographic or cinematic may contain fictional environments, generated performers, altered footage, or scenes that were never physically filmed in the form shown.
Human creative direction
Artificial intelligence is used as a creative and production tool. It does not replace the human decisions behind the project.
Every publicly released song, image, video, character, story, and promotional asset is selected, directed, edited, arranged, or approved by human creators. Generated material may be rejected, regenerated, rewritten, altered, combined with other material, or substantially transformed before publication.
The use of AI does not mean that content is created automatically, published without review, or accepted exactly as a tool first produces it.
Fiction, realism, and representation
Beneath The Static frequently uses realistic imagery to communicate emotional or fictional stories. Unless otherwise stated:
Synthetic performers should not be assumed to be real people.
Fictional scenes should not be assumed to document real events.
Character biographies and visual narratives may be part of the project’s fictional universe.
Similarities to an actual person, location, or event may be coincidental unless a connection is specifically credited or explained.
Nothing on this website should be interpreted as a claim that AI-generated imagery, footage, or performance is an unaltered recording of a real person or event unless it is expressly presented that way.
Release-specific differences
The amount and type of AI assistance may vary from one release to another. Some works may use AI extensively, while others may contain mostly human-created, photographed, filmed, performed, or manually edited material.
Where useful or practical, additional information may be included in individual song credits, video descriptions, liner notes, or project notes.
Our commitment to transparency
Beneath The Static uses emerging creative tools because they make it possible to explore stories, characters, performances, and visual worlds that may not otherwise be practical to produce. We also recognize that audiences deserve clarity about what they are hearing and seeing.
Our goal is not to disguise the use of artificial intelligence. Our goal is to use it thoughtfully, under human direction, in service of the music and the stories surrounding it. We work extremely hard to make everything as "real" as possible in order to help strengthen the connection between the music, the stories and the listeners. We want listeners to judge the music based on how it connects with them, not solely on how it was produced. If a song moves you, it wasn't because of an AI model. All of the stories and emotions featured in our music come from the real life events and feelings of those people behind the project.
